Moonshine Sling
Serve in a chilled Collins glass or Mason jar.

  • 1½-2 ounces moonshine
  • ½-1 ounce brandy or flavored brandy
  • Freshly squeezed juice of half a lemon
  • 2 dashes Benedictine
  • 1 dash grenadine
  • Chilled club or lemon-lime soda
  • Lemon wedge

Combine the moonshine, brandy, lemon juice, Benedictine, and grenadine in a shaker half-filled with fresh ice; shake vigorously. Strain the mixed drink into the prepared serving glass half-filled with ice; fill the glass with club or lemon-lime soda. Garnish with the lemon wedge.

Apple Pie Martini
Serve in a chilled cocktail glass.

  • 3-4 ounces vanilla-flavored vodka
  • ½-1 ounce apple-flavored brandy or Cognac
  • ½-1 ounce dry or sweet vermouth
  • Cinnamon stick

Combine the vodka, brandy or Cognac, and vermouth (dry for a dry martini; sweet for a wet martini) in a shaker half-filled with fresh ice. Shake vigorously, and strain the mixed drink into the prepared serving glass. Garnish with the cinnamon stick.

Cafe Brulet
Makes 10-12 servings; serve in warm coffee glasses or mugs.

  • 1-1½ cups cognac
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2-3 cloves
  • ¼-½ teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • ¼-½ teaspoon whole allspice
  • Spiral peel of 1 small orange
  • 2 slices lemon
  • 12 sugar cubes
  • 5-6 cups hot strong coffee

Combine all of the ingredients except the coffee in a chafing dish, and place over direct heat for 10 minutes or until hot. Heat a ladle, and fill it with a little of the hot cognac mixture; ignite the mixture in the ladle, and then pour it back into the chafing dish to ignite the remaining mixture. While the cognac mixture is flaming, add the hot coffee.
