ABC Agents Find Marijuana Plants in Bullock County

Agents of the Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board late yesterday afternoon discovered a small marijuana patch in west Bullock County. The agents were investigating a tip about a possible moonshine still when they found the cannabis plants.

The search took place in a wooded area along Bullock County Road 7 North. Bullock County Road 7 runs north and south in the western portion of the county. Agents found ten mature marijuana plants being grown and maintained in large buckets and pots. The plants were randomly planted in the field, but appeared to be continuously cared-for.  The plants were easily detected because of their distinctive green color.

A suspect has been identified, but no arrest has been made.  The investigation is continuing.

The agents are part of the ABC Board’s Moonshine Task Force that investigates tips, develops leads, and are skilled in tracking and following trails that are often associated with this type of illegal operation.  Agents are responsible for enforcing laws dealing with alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs.

Anyone with any information about this case or any other illegal activity is encouraged to call the ABC Board Hotline at 1-800-327-7341.
